The 3D Design Director is a new role to lead the 3D/Experience design team offering for GPJ across all of our clients. This role sits in the heart of the creative department and will ensure the agency has the best output for all 3D creative work. This role will not only deliver on exsisting clients but constantly strive to develop future client relationships and projects using innovative and creative ways to drive the clients message through to an experiential and immersive environment.

As Design Director, you will be managing, growing and leading the 3D design team while executing brave and innovative creative solutions. You will work on a wide range of briefs while managing the design team. As part of the senior creative team you will be instrumental in the success of the business and attracting and winning new business.

About the Role

• Taking the 3D design lead across our various clients, ensuring we champion how we use and present spaces and experiences

• Building and managing team of talented and inspiring people who can drive the business forward and champion great work across the 3D department

• Drive creativity and design principles

• Working with other department heads to ensure smooth running of the business

• Being an inspirational leader for the team using your expertise to educate on better ways of working

• Strong management and communication skills with an ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment

• Understanding in depth the programmes and software’s we use to ensure that we are consistent in how we present our work on a daily basis

• Work alongside our international offices to ensure smooth ways of working and ensuring best working practices are in place

• Working with the global creative directors to ensure consistency across the global network

• Can perform comfortably in pitches including presenting with authority and flair

• Presenting work to the business and clients

• Working with the Creative Leads and Creative Directors to ensure creative is at the heart of what we do and the clients KPI’s are being met through smooth processes and ensuring efficiency across the department

• Building lines of communication with the production department to ensure smooth running of the projects

• Signing off of all design/action briefs with and informing timings based on judgement

• Ensuring consistency of work and making sure all work is to a standard expected of GPJ

• Building a relationship with other departments in the business

• Assigning briefs to members of the team ensuring skill set and experience is taken into account

• Liaise with 3rd party suppliers to ensure we are collaboratively working in the best way


• A natural leader who can drive creative thinking through at every level

• Minimum 8 Years + agency experience or within a similar design environment

• An established and proactive problem solver

• Commercially minded in regard to managing a team

• Excellent performance management and managerial skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Calm, considered and able to manage a team under pressure

• Able to present in a dynamic and creative way

• Be inspirational to the business and our clients

• Strong understanding of software’s and capabilities

About You

• Active in the design world, needs to have a great knowledge of growing and emerging trends in the industry as well as best practices in the field

• Strong ability to prioritise work and resources across clients and briefs based on short and long-term business needs

• Be fearless and disruptive with your creative ideas
