Job Purpose

The Senior Producer brings with them significant depth and breadth of experience in live event production, providing best in class delivery for the Integrated Production services within GPJ UK.

The Senior Producer plays an important role in implementing our clients’ objectives. They play an integral part in addressing the clients’ business challenges, working in collaboration with colleagues in the Strategy & Planning, Creative, Digital disciplines, and the Integrated Production team to deliver the project on time, on budget and on brief.

GPJ will look to the Senior Producer to work either independently on a project or be a key player on larger projects, under the guidance of the Exec producer. They will champion their area of Integrated Production expertise within the business, providing excellent service to our clients, commercial success for GPJ and the continued growth and development of their competency across the agency’s Integrated Production team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Delivery

  • Managing increasingly complex project/s, often simultaneously, aligning appropriate resource based on skill, experience and personality for the client
  • Whilst remaining operationally focused, you will be less involved in the day to day delivery of a project, instead focusing on delegating, advising, troubleshooting and driving best practise across the business
  • A main contributor for devising scopes of works for all and any Integrated Production elements within new projects and pitches, with specific focus on the commercial opportunities around resourcing
  • Responsibility for the creation and ongoing management of project timelines and plans to ensure programmes are on track and in line with the overarching project plan
  • Responsibility for proactively advising the client partner on all and any delivery and operational considerations
  • Developing and/or approving budgets, timelines and supplier contributions, in response to specific client and business needs
  • Accountability for the quality of delivery within yours and your direct team’s remit, including the provision of pro-active operational expertise to the client / client partner as require


  • Working in close partnership with CDs and strategists to identify and meet the clients’ strategic objectives whilst adhering to all operational considerations and parameters
  • Leading key client and internal meetings to provide input / expertise related to production elements within yours and your team’s remit
  • Maintaining ongoing cross-and inter-agency collaboration to ensure an aligned approach for meeting client objectives

Talent Management

  • Leading on the identification and securing of the best industry talent
  • Understanding and being able to communicate knowledge of the skillsets and abilities across the Integrated Production department
  • Supporting the Integrated Production Leadership Team with successfully casting the appropriate resource to the accounts and projects
  • Demonstrating leadership attributes, managing substantial teams across the business, supporting change, managing yours and your team’s workload, instilling best practice
  • Ability to clearly communicate performance expectations to your direct reports and line manager
  • Ability to nurture, grow and develop your direct reports and project team
  • Driving, supporting and championing Talent initiatives where agreed and necessary

Client Relationships

  • Working in close partnership with client partner to ensure the successful management and retention of key clients and projects
  • Partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and client partners to provide strategic oversight and counsel on deliverables, managing client expectations accordingly
  • Collaborating with client partners and exec. producers on understanding and informing client’s objectives, ensuring project outputs meet these objectives and deliver great results
  • Articulate, write and present a clear vision of project success, in order to gain the confidence of a client audience, providing guidance and counsel where relevant

New Business Development

  • Supporting the client partner/pitch lead by leading on all Integrated Production elements within the pitch process
  • Responsibility for overseeing the provision of detailed, timely and accurate responses to RFPs
  • Contributing to, and advising on, the commercial requirements including 3rd party costs for all and any relevant areas of a pitch brief
  • Attending and presenting pitch presentations when required
  • Actively promote GPJ through demonstrable best practice


  • Supporting the Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) with scoping for all and any Integrated Production requirements within new projects, with a commercial focus on the use of people’s time
  • If assigned as project lead (on mid-to-large scale deliveries) you will be accountable for profitability of the overall project, protecting the commercial health of projects including the ongoing management of the SOW
  • Close collaboration with the client partner on the ongoing management of project forecasting
  • Working with the client partner and SME’s on identifying commercial opportunities within your area of the business
  • Responsible to oversee and approve high-value vendor quotes and change orders, with an continuous focus on how to drive value, profitability and efficiency
  • Leading on, or supporting the EP with, numerous timely and accurate budget reconciliations simultaneously, often across multiple currencies
  • Strong understanding of financial software
  • Ongoing evaluation of job/cost reports and timesheets – proactively addressing issues and making recommendations ahead of time
